Making Yulia's Runes: Latex, Glitter, and a Little Cosplay Magic

Instead of drawing runes by hand Yulia created what is very well known to cosplayers - latex bodypaint mixed with glitter.

I’ve used this stuff myself for studio photoshoots several times, it’s very fun.

I’ve tried out store-bought ones and I’ve made them myself too in my studio by using glue, paint and different glitters to experiment with various techniques for making unique photos such as:

Yulia lies covered in red glitter and cracked latex while hands sprinkle more glitter.
Latex and glitter form the runes of a new, dangerous power.
Yulia lies supine in a dark, atmospheric setting, her skin coated in red glitter and a cracked, shell-like layer of latex body paint. Hands, also dusted with glitter, hover over her, sprinkling more sparkling particles onto her chest and face. The scene is lit with dramatic green and red lighting, emphasizing the texture of the latex and the shimmer of the glitter against the darkness.
